I have been wagering on the net or at land based casinos for many years. I have learned, the fixation can grab a hold of you and you will not even notice it until you are beaten. Especially if you are on a profit streak. I have gone through many hundreds of clams in a very tiny period of time and even today, I sometimes go too far. It feels like you are just having a blast up till you choose to consider your loss and the guilt settles in, and of course you continue telling yourself "I will be able to earn it back" at length. It doesn’t work. Then you get sick to your stomach and the more you try the quicker you lose.
When you find that you are in the black, Remain in the Black! When you start to throw away, don’t convince yourself, "well just maybe one more" a number of times, believe in me, this tactic RARELY ever works. Say you are wagering on slot machines, keep a pot separate prior to starting your gaming. DO NOT go over that restriction, no matter how tempting. If you happen to gain, put that in an alternate cup. Don’t bet your payouts no matter what. Once you have played through your original set cutoff, stop. Call it quits, whether it is on the internet or at a brick and mortar casino, do not stick at the tables or machines. Make sure to remember, there will be another day, other times. Clearly, this process usually will work for any casino game that you play, be it bingo, poker, electronic poker, keno, chemin de fer or any other game.
Remember, wagering should be entertaining not burdensome, sickening work! If you are not enjoying yourself, you don’t belong there. If you cannot pay for the loss, do not ever start.
